How about ignoring perspective—letting go of light, shadow, and the so-called decisive moments?
The colours and materials found in urban streets may carry traces of aesthetic intention, but are mostly chosen for practicality, efficiency, and economic logic. These artificial layers, laid down by human hands, stretch across the city like synthetic skin—at times resembling skin diseases on the surface of the Earth. Still, in their imperfection and roughness, an accidental beauty emerges: fragile, chaotic, and strangely human.
From the three-dimensional to the plane, back to the solid, and then to the plane again
We create gravestones from parts of the earth—as well as parts of the universe. But what will the gravestones of our time look like, when the Earth is covered in synthetic skin?
On the streets, I came across the abandoned remnants of obsolete media—objects once designed to deliver images, now stripped of meaning and function. Out of respect, I built quiet memorials from them, echoing the colours and textures of their surroundings, and recorded their presence in portraits.
